Welcome to Youth Quest!
Youth Quest is a 12 week programme designed to deal practically and effectively with at-risk youth and recidivist offenders while including their parents and/or caregivers.
Youth Quest will also monitor progress for a year after completion of the program to give advice and offer ongoing support to reduce or prevent youth offending and allow youth to become a positive part of their community.
Youth Quest Objectives
• To develop a positive self image in young people, to restore their dignity and help them to accept themselves as worthwhile people.
• Provide adult role models who are approachable and reliable, someone they can learn to trust and respect and share their problems with.
• Creating an environment where youth feel safe and secure.
• To develop healthy peer relationships, to accept others for what and who they are.
• Working closely with families of young people on the program to develop strong relationships within the whanau.
• Developing the potential within the youth to allow them to make right decisions and do something positive with their lives.
• To develop communication, leadership, and team building skills and awareness of stress, anger and drug management and a high standard of personal presentation.
